Ms. Joyce Ferrell has accepted the Town's invitation to be the Chairperson for the next Newport Christmas Parade which will be December 5th. Ms. Ferrell has years of experience and is highly qualified to coordinate this special event. She will be forming her committee soon and putting all the plans in motion. She can be reached at 223-5900 or at jaferrell@embarqmail.comThe Newport Town Council has voted to establish a Long-Range Planning Committee to include local citizens and business owners. Any person who is interested in serving on the committee should contact Councilman David Heath at 223-4896 or Councilman Steve Blizzard at 223-2110.

The Town of Newport is located on the East Coast of North Carolina. It is in Carteret County, on the banks of the Newport River. The town is adjacent to, and northwest of Morehead City, on US Highway 70.
